3D Digitalization in the IMK/KT
Digitalization is the physical or optical registration of the outer surface
of a physical model. The result of the data registration is a computer point
model that is derived out of a quantity of points, every point being defined
through a specific x-, y- and z- value. The point model is also called a
point cloud.
Subsequently, data editing is needed for the Reconstruction of the
Parts/Objects. This is done through the production of curves on the
reference point of the digitalization. The process of generation from
contour drawn curves and faces from the basis of point data is the called
the reconstruction of surface.
